Summer Newsletter 2010

Miss Newcastle raised over £6k for the Percy Hedley Foundation!

Congratulations to our Miss Newcastle 2010 winner Vee Sethu. Vee, 18, from Benton, was chosen by our panel of judges to represent our fantastic city at Miss England. The glamorous event was held at Newcastle Civic Centre in May and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved who helped us raise over £6000 for the Percy Hedley Foundation. Vee visited the school to present the cheque which will go towards a new hydrotherapy pool for their pupils. Thank you again to our main sponsors Eldon Square & Debenhams, and our 20 finalist sponsors for all of their support. We hope to see you all again in 2011!

Independence Day Charity Abseil

Celebrations will be taking place on 4th July in Newcastle to mark the first birthday of Asian Business Connexions. To mark the occasion an abseil from the rooftop of MalMaison hotel will take place to help raise money for local charities. This prestigious landmark will provide the ideal backdrop for a fun-filled day of family activities based around an East meets West theme.
Many local businesses are already supporting the event which will include face painting, hand mendi, cultural displays, magician, jugglers, football competitions and lots more. Main event sponsor A4e‘s Area Manager, Tracy Ramage said, “We are thrilled to be supporting ABC with their birthday celebrations. We are a social purpose company that sits at the heart of the community, striving to help improve the lives of individuals and their families. Like ABC, we too feel proud to be supporting charities such as Marie Curie and Metro Radio’s Cash for Kids – as the work they do is fantastic and makes a real difference to people, their families and communities at large”.

Anyone interested in jumping off MalMaison to support their local charity can register for the abseil by calling Erin on 0844 24 777 05 or email abseil@abconnexions.org for an application details.

SETTING THE MODEL STANDARDS

The aim of Model Boot Camp (MBC) is to deliver quality educational
programmes that enable students to achieve positive outcomes.
As an innovative and visionary training-provider, Model Boot Camp is offering one-day taster classes throughout July, August & September. These classes will introduce students to an exciting and dynamic approach in education specific to the Modelling Industry.
These classes can then lead onto a variety of qualifications that include nationally recognised Awards, Certificates and Diplomas. Coupled with the traditional qualifications, students are taught a variety of key life skills including assertiveness, confidence, presenting and group working.
In addition to the current qualifications offered through the National Open College
Network, MBC is now approved by City & Guilds as an educational establishment and
is currently developing a series of qualifications including a Level 3 Diploma that will
be certified by City & Guilds.
MBC aim to provide a continuous improvement educational environment where
strengths are promoted and weaknesses addressed, this approach is adopted for not only students but also teachers alike.
The courses are delivered within purpose built studio and classroom environments that are located within 5 minutes from Newcastle City Centre, directly opposite St James’ Park. The unique delivery methods of the courses engage the students through challenging practical and theoretical creative lessons.
As spaces are very limited and offered on a first come basis, please contact Model Boot Camp now to ensure your pupils secure a place on the course that sets model standards.....

Look Great with believe 2 achieveext3

Believe2Achieve is all about getting you looking great, but its not just about weightloss - it offers a complete, holistic approach to health and fitness.Established in 2009 it is spearheaded by Amanda Grieveson and Katy Foggin. The equipment they use is state of the art but they also realise that offering people a quick fix will not lead to sustainable health improvement.  Their lapex BCS laser treatment promises INSTANT inch loss, but they always follow up with tried and tested exercise and diet advice. The machine is perfect for those stubborn areas that you cannot lose through diet and exercise alone.  We encouage people to have a goal, we can start them off, and tell them how to get to where they want to be , but a lot of people get lost on the journey.  We encourage the change, we educate support and educate them, and hopefully help them to enhance their lives.

Lesley from the agency had a session and was amazed by the results, " I felt great and noticed a dramatic difference after only one treatment"
